Our stories matter…

What’s your story?

We tell our stories in many different ways –

Writing them down – paper, computer, typewriter

Recording them – Audio files for podcast and YouTube

Video files – Add photos or images to your story

Performing them – poetry, plays, street performances

At Raised Ink Press we believe everybody has a story worth telling…

Discover your story.

Raised Ink Press is a collective of northern rivers writers. The group was created by writer and poet, Andrew Spencer. The group is designed to reduce isolation and foster the community of writers in our region.

If you have an interest in writing, or telling stories; if you write poetry or wish to recite poetry; if you have ever wondered about radio broadcasting or podcasting; Raised Ink Press can help.

We have a community of emerging writers who support each other through our writers alliance. Raised Ink Press publishes a bi-monthly ‘Zine’ that allows our writers to practice publishing, editing and submitting.

WerdNerds on 2NCR River FM 92.9 is our community radio programme. We broadcast every Thursday at 10am from the River FM Studios. WerdNerds features stories, news, writing opportunities and more…

WerdNerds Radio Show – Thursday 10am – 12 noon (Weekly)

We are involved in community events. At the Kyogle Writers Festival, Raised Ink Press hosted the Flamingo Writers Salon. The event featured new and emerging writers and poets. The Flamingo Salon was an opportunity for new writers to display their writing on a safe and inclusive stage. The Flamingo Salon was supported by our community partnership with ACON Health Service.

The 2nd Kyogle Writers Festival was held in May 2022

Creative Writing comes in many forms. Here is a wall poem using paint pens. This poem is located in Lismore’s Back Alley Gallery. Telling your story in different ways allows many different people to share your message. Who knows who will walk past this poem…
